Dear Member

We understand this is an anxious time for everyone, especially cancer patients and their families. Due to Covid-19 we have suspended all one to one and group, face to face support services, in line with advice from the Public Health Agency. The building is currently closed to the public but staff are in, putting in place different ways to offer you support. We understand this may change as daily advice and instruction comes through.

Please remember we are still here to offer you support, albeit in a different way.  Please see below a summary of how we plan to do this.

We urge you to keep safe and follow Public Health Agency guidance at all times, www.phasite/coronavirus  If you are unable to access the website for any reason, contact the NHS Coronavirus helpline on 111. 

Cancer Lifeline will try to make contact by phone with as many of you as possible over the coming weeks but we can’t stress enough, PLEASE contact us by telephone if you need help and we will do our best to respond. If you can’t get through leave a message and we will get back to you.

TELEPHONE CONTACT   We will try our best to keep in touch with you over the phone to help arrange your appointments and to support you at this uncertain time. Please contact us if you need any help.

COUNSELLING services will now be provided by telephone. We are currently contacting all individuals who were engaged in counselling to offer this service by phone. Please telephone us if you need counselling support at any time and we can arrange this for you.

WELFARE BENEFITS ADVICE will be provided by telephone support from Advice Space (previously C.A.B) . Contact us with your query and we will forward your details to Anne Marie who will contact you by phone. Please make sure you are able to fill out your forms if applicable when she phones or arrange to have someone present to complete them for you.

BACH FLOWER REMEDIES   Dr Bach’s original flower remedies are a system of 38 flower remedies that can affect our emotions positively. They are totally safe for everyone and could help with anxiety and strain on our emotions during this difficult time. Many of you are already benefiting from this service and we want to try our best to ensure you can still get access to them. Please contact us by telephone and we can arrange for Mary Connolly to contact you by phone for a consultation to make you up a blend or to review your blend and issue you with a new one. We will post or deliver your blend to your door; we will confirm this at the time of your consultation.

 POSITIVE WELLBEING VIDEOS   We are currently putting some short wellbeing videos on our website www.cancerlifeline.info   these will cover a range of topics such as good nutrition and building your immune system with Jane McClenaghan.  Mary Connolly will also be presenting topics on Coping with Stress and Anxiety and ideas for Gentle Movement and Stretching. You can click on and watch these when it suits you best, helping you to keep well. (We appreciate not everyone will have access to the internet but we know some of you will, so enjoy and watch as many times as you like.)
