A CANCER DIAGNOSIS IS ASSOCIATED WITH A STATE OF SHOCK, A NEED FOR SENSITIVITY, PATIENCE AND SUPPORT AS WELL AS THE PRESENTATION OF IMPORTANT MEDICAL INFORMATION  IN A WAY THAT CAN BE EASILY UNDERSTOOD.

Users at Cancer Lifeline have expressed the need for support to access services.

Cancer Lifeline's Advocacy Support service is key to

  • Encouraging people to take up support to help them through their cancer journey
  • Helping individuals and families manage their condition and its treatment, in partnership with health care professionals
  • Guiding people through the range of external support services available to them
  • Helping people to develop their confidence, skills and capacity to deal with their or their loved ones illness and treatment regimes
